Elemental LED, a San Francisco Bay Area-based LED lighting company, recently announced that products purchased on the company’s e-commerce platform at elementalled.com now come with a 5-year warranty. This is a change from the company’s previous product warranty, which was 3 years.
The shift from 3 to 5 years is a major vote of confidence for Elemental LED customers. The company opened its virtual doors in 2007. Now in its fifth year of business, Elemental LED is signaling that it is not going anywhere.
“We see other LED lighting retailers come and go online,” says Elemental LED Marketing Manager Charlotte Dick. “Our customers notice this, too, and we understand that they are wary about ordering from a company that may not be around next year, or even next month.”
Elemental LED has grown rapidly in the past two years. Benchmarks include a licensing program with Royal Philips Electronics signed in September 2011, the launch of a project management program in January 2011, and the release of several innovative products engineered by Elemental LED including the Reign PWM LED Dimmer Switch in November 2010 and a dimmable LED puck light in September 2010. The company has several new programs and products planned for launch in 2012.
“We are excited to offer a 5-year warranty on our products,” says Elemental LED CEO Maxwell Darling. “We are confident about our products’ long-term quality and efficacy and we want to reflect that in our warranty.”
The new product warranty from Elemental LED states specifically: “All our products have a 5 year warranty guaranteeing they are free from manufacturing defects, under normal use and service for a period of five (5) years from the date of delivery to the original end user. Items returned under warranty will be exchanged or credited at our option. Liability is limited to replacement value of the item only; it does not apply to labor or any indirect or consequential damages.”
